I stopped breastfeeding on July 9. I didn't really do it consciously. But Sammy, after waking up multiple times starting at 4:45 am, slept until 6:30 am. I was already out of bed and eating breakfast when she was finally ready to get up. I wasn't going to climb back into bed to nurse her. And this morning, I got up and exercised and was in the middle of exercising when she woke up and my husband took care of her. So I guess I'm done nursing! I wish I had a conscious thought the last time I nursed her to think THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL EVER NURSE A BABY. But I didn't. And I think it's okay.
We've also decided to take Sammy's binkie away except for naps and nighttime sleeping. She doesn't really need it during the day but if she has it, she will suck on it every single second of every single minute of every single day. So bye bye binkie! She's more than 14 months now. If we don't get rid of it now, we may lose our opportunity to do it easily as she gets older.
