Ian's First Trip to the Dentist

Now that Ian is 3, we figured it was time for him to go to the dentist.  So we went to our family dentist.  Ian is the 4th generation to go there!  Right now, this dentist sees Nana (paternal grandfather's mother), Baba and Gramps (paternal grandparents), Daddy, Mommy and now Ian!  He was pretty willing to cooperate although whimpered a bit when the dental hygienist and dentist were wearing masks.  They removed them so that they didn't seem so scary to him.  They put sunglasses on him, polished his teeth, counted his teeth and then painted fluoride on them.  And he had no issues.  Hooray.

And oh happy day, the dentist gave him stickers, a pencil and a Cars-themed toothbrush for being such a cooperating little boy.  I'm very proud.  :-)

Choosing a children's dentist is an important part of their overall welfare. The dentist will be one of their best friends throughout their young lives, because the children's dentist will be helping to provide them with the necessary care that will help to insure optimal health for the rest of their lives.

Two thumbs up for Ian! And that’s a nice sunglass too! Not all kids are like him; they usually get scared and cry while running back and forth in the dentist’s office. I realized that maybe it’s the dentist’s mask that makes kids so scared. I’ll definitely tell this to my son’s dentist on his next visit. :) Thanks for sharing.

Your dentist must be really that good, right? It’s not easy to find a dentist that you can trust all your life. Good thing your son was very cooperative! A kid like him deserves a reward!

It seems Ian enjoyed his first dental visit. He looks cool with those shades, huh? :D Well, it’s a good thing that you have a dentist that you can trust. Members of your family have been his patient for a long time now, so it really proves how reliable he is.
